Abstract
126,820. Bein, J. May 24, 1918. Press-button switches; mechanically-released switches.-A band having a limited rotary movement on the casing of the torch is adaptetd to engage a plunger switch and prevent unintentional closure of the circuit. The band may itself actuate the switch. In one form, the band 3, Fig. 3, has a keyhole slot, the wide end of which allows passage of a flange 4 on the plunger. The metal of the band may be pressed outwards around the slot as shown, so as to accommodate, the flange when the switch is closed; or the flange may enter a recess in the casing. In another form, the end of the plunger 17, Fig. 13, is rounded and enters a dent 18 in the band when the switch is open. In either form, the motion of the band may be limited by a pin 15 and slot 14. The closed band shown may be replaced by an incomplete spring band.
