Abstract
486,034. Meshing-screw pumps. LEISTRITZ, P., and BURGHAUSER, F. Nov. 30, 1936, Nos. 32748 and 32749. Convention dates, Nov. 30, 1935 and July 30, 1936. [Class 110 (ii)] The pump is used for kneading material and comprises two rotors a, b having helical threads of increasing size axially, or vice versa as shown. The material to be pumped enters at A to the spaces in the upper rotor a only, a collar g preventing its passage to the spaces of rotor b. As the spaces in a decrease, the material is squeezed through crevices SS into the spaces in the rotor b, and is delivered through holes in a plate i, or through a regulating valve. The size of the crevices SS may be varied by axial adjustment of the rotor b through a nut h. A hollow space may be allowed at the delivery end of the rotor a, in the casing, to trap foreign materials. A plugged aperture for the removal of these, may be provided.
