Abstract

[Class 6 (i)] A cultivator is provided with independently mounted tines interconnected by chains or links which are connected to the tines through bell-crank levers. The latter are mounted on the tines in such a way that the points of connection between the chains and the levers move in circular arcs to which the chains remain tangential during their movement. Fig. 4 shows a part of a cultivator in which the tines 2 are pivotally mounted on the frame bar 4 and are connected together by chains 13 the end ones of which are connected to the frame of the machine at 17, 18. The chains are connected to the tines through bell-cranks 11 pivoted at 10 to shackles 5 carried by the tines. Fig. 1 shows a shackle 5 having a fork 6 to receive a lug on a tine and a fork 7 having a pin 10 on which the bell-crank 11 is pivoted. The latter is connected to each of the chains 13 through a shackle 14 which is provided with a lubricating nipple 16. Specification 329,756, [Class 6 (i)], is referred to.
