Abstract
In the manufacture of films or other carriers for use in the mechanical recording of oscillations, the carriers are made of a pure gelatine which has been decomposed to a lower molecular colloid state, but not beyond the point at which a 10 per cent solution of the gelatine gelatinizes at 15 DEG C. The gelatine used should not be more impure than commercial photographic gelatine of medium quality, and may be decomposed by the action of heat or alkali, but preferably by means of acid. The acid may be neutralized when the gelatine is sufficiently decomposed, and crystallizable salts may then be removed by dialysis.ALSO:In the manufacture of films or other carriers for use in the mechanical recording of oscillations, the carriers are made of a pure gelatine which has been decomposed to a lower molecular colloid state, but not beyond the point at which a 10 per cent solution of the gelatine gelatinizes at 15 DEG C.
