[Class 4] [Also in Groups XXIV and XXVI] Mechanism in which driving and driven shafts a<1>, a<2>, Fig. 1, have at least two opposed crank arms b<1>, c<1>, b<2>, c<2>, the corresponding crank-pins of which are connected by wires d, e, or other tension members, so that the crank arms always remain parallel, is applied to the driving of a number of aeroplane propellers. A central driving shaft a<1>, Fig. 3, is connected through cables d, e with driven shafts a<2>.. a<7> carrying propellers g<2>, g<7>, respectively, arranged in spaced and parallel relationship at the front of an aeroplane wing h. Guide cranks i may be provided to prevent vibration and deformation. The ends of the cables d, Fig. 4, are connected through eyes d<1>, d2 to a common metal piece j mounted by means of a ball or roller bearing k on the crankpin b<1>. Stretchers or other devices may be provided for adjusting the tension of the cables.
