Abstract
A magnetic alloy which can easily be powdered for use in cores for coils, consists of iron with 7-9 per cent of silicon and 6-11 per cent of manganese. The powdered material may be annealed in dry or wet hydrogen for one hour at 1100 DEG C. and may be insulated by coating the particles with a layer of zinc ammonium phosphate mixed with a binder and subsequently pressed into the required form.
