Abstract

484,059. Breast plates for spinning &c. frames. LOW & CO., Ltd., J. F., and HUGGINSON, T. Sept. 4, 1937, No. 24201. [Class 120 (ii)] The breast plate of spinning, twisting, and like frames is formed with a convex roveengaging surface 4 and is angularly adjustable about a horizontal shaft 6, which is located at a distance therefrom less than the radius of curvature of the adjacent part of the surface, and nearer to the lower than to the upper edge of the plate, whereby small angular adjustment effects a large variation in the rove-contacting surface and in the length of roving between the plate and the nip of the rollers. The shaft 6 is bodily adjustable.
