483,983. Projectiles. SAGEB SOC. ANON. DE GESTION ET D'EXPLOITATION DE BREVETS. March 30, 1937, No. 35561. Convention date, March 30, 1936. Divided application. [Class 9 (i)] A projectile comprises a body 1 having a cavity 35 which increases stepwise in diameter towards the rear, and an ogival front portion 2 made of a material which is lighter than that of the body. The ogival curvature of the projectile extends to that region of the body 1 which engages with the rifling of the gun. The cavity 35 may remain empty or it may contain a tracer or rocket composition, or a part of the propulsive charge. The ogival portion fits into a sleeve 1b of the body 1 and has a cavity 2a which may remain empty or which may contain a smokeproducing, poisonous, or other charge. In a modification, the body constitutes a bullet having a hardened nose, which fits into the rear end of the front ogival portion.
