Abstract

483,284. Centrifugal dust-separators. REXAIR CORPORATION. Oct. 13, 1936, No. 27768. Convention date, Dec. 18, 1935. [Class 23] [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXV] in a vacuum-cleaner comprising a fan-motor unit and device for submitting the air to a preliminary dust-separating process, a dustseparator element 35 mounted on an extension of the fan-motor unit spindle has a frustoconical form. Helical slots in the separator define bars 44, the leading edges of which extend radially inwardly a slightly greater amount than the trailing edges. At its foot the separator carries a spider 36 with radially disposed vanes 37 which by centrifugal action prevent the access of dust-laden air to the base of the separator. The dust is discharged into the bin 85. Specification 482,712 is referred to.
