Abstract

483,105. Bearings. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN, and PALMGREN, N. A. March 8, 1937, No. 6795. [Class 12 (i)] A combined radial and axial thrust bearing has thrust rings 4 supported by two projections 18 diametrically opposite each other on a shrouding member 6. This member is itself supported from the bearing casing by projections 19 displaced 90‹ from the projections 18 so that the ring 4 is self-aligning. This ring has grooves on its bearing face, displaced from the projections 18, thus rendering the ring flexible and producing oil wedges. The ring is held in the shroud member by lugs 16 being bent into recesses 17. Oil passages 8 and 11 are provided. Specifications 434,125, 462,602, and 472,681 are referred to.
