483,094. Gas cooking-stoves. SCOTTISH ENAMELLING CO., Ltd., WATSON, F. A., and SHAW, W. M. A. Oct. 15, 1936, No. 27970. [Class 126] The sides 3, and if desired the back 2, of the outer casing B of a gas cooker are continued upwards above the top of the oven chamber C and carry the hotplate, and at each front corner the sides are provided with a part which projects forwardly beyond the plane of the oven door opening and extends the entire height of the casing so as to constitute what is virtually a pillar 4, the front assembly of the cooker being secured to the pillars at their rear. In one form, Fig. 3, the outer casing is entirely of sheet metal, and the front edges are bent as shown to form the pillars 4, which enclose metal bars 5 to which the front plate 6 of the oven chamber is secured by screws 7. The casing is in three parts joined at b by strips b<1>, Fig. 4. The oven chamber C, which is made in one piece and is open atthe front and bottom, is located at the front by flanges 9 on the plate 6. Insulating material is provided between the chamber C and the casing B, and also as a lining to those parts of the casing walls extending above the chamber C. The gas pipe supplying the hot-plate burners is enclosed in the insulation except where a thermostatic regulator 16 is mounted. In another form, the pillars are of cast-iron and are attached to the sheet-metal casing. Specifications 465,847 and 482,599 are referred to.
