Abstract
482,569. Valve circuits. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. July 26, 1937, No. 20655. Convention date, July 24, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] In order automatically to control the signal level in carrier frequency telegraph systems by means of the grid current of a threeelectrode valve the added bias is arranged to be equal to half the difference between the normal input level to be maintained and the increased input level. Thus the grid of valve R, which operates relay ER, is normally biassed to " bottom-bend " and the grid circuit includes two equal resistances R1, R2 shunted by a small condenser C1, the resistance R2 being shunted by a large condenser C2. Other and more complex arrangements of resistances and condensers to produce the same effect, are described, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
