Void. Convention date, June 22, 1935. [Class 56] Relates to the method of tempering glass in which the hot glass is cooled by jets of air or gas blown on to its surfaces. According to the invention, the blowing is arranged to cool the surfaces rapidly until the glass has become solid and then, or soon after, the rate of cooling is diminished. The alteration in the rate of cooling may be effected by reducing the velocity of the gas or by moving the jets away from the glass.
