Abstract
482,222. Brushes. BRITISH XYLONITE CO., Ltd., and SNELL, S. W. Nov. 16, 1936, No. 31270. [Class 19] The stock of a brush is formed of moulded material such as celluloid or phenol formaldehyde product with holes for bristles formed in the moulding process of rectangular cross-section as in Fig. 3. The bristles are secured by an anchor D more or less U-shaped locked in the hole by spreading so as to cause teeth D<2> to enter the sides of the hole. The lower part of the hole is made semi-cylindrical at B<1>, Fig. 1, to accommodate the lower part of the bristle tuft. Curved edges B<2> are also provided at the upper part of the hole to prevent the bristles being cut when inserted.
