Abstract

481,670. Collapsable gates. MORLEY, R. E. Sept. 15, 1936, No. 25101. [Class 45] To prevent rattling, the connections between the pickets and the lattice members consist of bushes or like elements embracing the external surfaces of the pickets. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the lattice members are pivoted to bushes 4a fixed to front pickets 1 and to bushes 4 slidable on them, rear pickets staggered with the front ones being vertically movable while alternate front pickets support the gate from the runners 8. A handle 11 is carried by and connects a front and rear picket at the free edge of the gate. The pivots may be integral with the bushes and the pickets and bushes may be of round, square or triangular cross-section. The free edge of the gate may consist of a pair of pickets 14, 15, Figs. 15 and 16, connected by a runner bracket 16 and by brackets 18 defining a handle portion.
