Abstract

[Class 38 (i)] A fuse wire c passing through a refractory tube a is clamped at each end between a ring b fixed to the reduced end of the tube a, and a cap d that fits over the ring and closes the end of the tube. A sheet of asbestos &c. d<5> seals the tube and prevents access of the arc to the contacts. A vent hole a<2> is provided. The cap d is surrounded by an insulating ring d<1> and abuts against contacts f, g<1> in the casing e. The contact f is secured directly to a terminal, and connection between the other terminal and the contact g<1> is made by means of a screw ring g<2>.
