Abstract
480,360. Mixing &c. apparatus. STEVENS, A. H. (Barron-Gray Packing Co.) Aug. 24, 1936, No. 23215. [Class 86] [Also in Group I] Mixtures of diced fruits are made by feeding the separate fruits in proportionate quantities to separate dicing-machines which discharge into a stream of water discharging in turn into a tank from which the contents pass to means for separating the smaller pieces and water. The fruits are fed from hoppers A by means of conveyers 6 and deposited on a conveyer 8 divided by a partition for the separate fruits which are swept into dicing-machines 1 . . . 5 ; in the form shown the machines 1, 2 and 3 are fed with one kind, the other being fed to the machines 4 and 5. The machines discharge into a stream 15, thence to a tank 17. The tank is provided with discharge pipes 22 leading to reciprocating screens which separate the diced fruit from smaller pieces and from water. The diced fruit is discharged on to conveyers 25, the smaller pieces to conveyers 27, and the water to pipes 31.
