Abstract

480,267. Optical projection apparatus. KODAK, Ltd. Aug. 20, 1936, No. 22915. Convention date, Oct. 3, 1935. [Class 97 (i)] To protect the condenser 1 of a kinematographic or other projector from heat from the arc lamp 2, a continuously rotated plane glass disc 10 is arranged between the condenser and the arc. The disc is rotated about an axis 8 offset from the optical axis and may be connected to the bladed shutter 7 of the projector. In a modification, the disc 10 may also carry opaque sectors to act as a shutter, the sectors being arranged to correspond to the shutter sectors. The condenser member nearest the arc may be of the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Pyrex."
