Abstract

479,913. Projection screens. DEWEY, H., and TURNER, E. G. Aug. 12, 1936, No. 22217. [Class 97 (i)] In a screen composed of a number of metal strips, the extreme ends of each strip are reinforced to enable same to be mounted on a frame and tension to be applied thereto. As shown, the ends of the strips e of zinc or spelter sheet are reinforced by galvanized iron strips d bent to channel shape and soldered to the strips e. Bolts c secured to a frame a permit tension to be applied, the edges of each strip overlapping to form a continuous surface. The reinforcing members may be circular in section and springs may be employed in conjunction with the tension bolts. The screen may be perforated and treated with fireproof dope or asbestos paint. To prevent sagging, the screen may be supported by horizontal taut wires.
