Abstract

479,709. Two - part couplings. VENDOPE, V. L., BURDICK, R., and BARON, A. S. Jan. 9, 1937, No. 735. Convention date, Jan. 23, 1936. [Class 38 (i)] A bracket comprising the conductive connection to and sole support for a double ended tubular lamp consists of a pair of arms 16, preferably covered with insulation, connected to the caps of the lamp and bent at their inner ends to engage a terminal 20. The arms may be soldered to lugs 15 of contact members 14 carried by insulating caps 13, the contact members engaging central recesses in the lamp terminals by snap fastener action. The arms may be of unequal length and each arm may be inserted in a separate terminal in the case of electric signs &c. When a number of lamps are arranged in line, the outer ends of the arms may have a stiff hinge connection, such as a rivet, with the lugs 15 so that a lamp can be swung out of line for replacement.
