Abstract

479,352. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. July 31, 1936, No. 21269. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1935. [Class 29] Absorption machines.-In a refrigerating system comprising two or more intermittently acting absorption refrigerating systems, the primary system has separate expulsion and absorption points, and the secondary apparatus has its boiler in continuous heat conductive connection with the separate absorption point of the primary apparatus. The primary apparatus is of the kind described in Specification 449,320 and comprises a boiler 14, absorber 16, condenser 45, and evaporator 49. The secondary system comprises a generator absorber 61 arranged around absorber 16, an air cooled condenser 65, and an evaporator 67. The generator absorber 61 is provided with pins 63 for air cooling when it is absorbing. It also may be cooled by a heat-exchange system comprising a fluid flowing in a closed circuit between a condenser and an evaporator. The fluid in this system is circulated by a heat pump driven by the heating means of the primary system, and thus the absorber 61 is only cooled when the primary system is generating. Cold vapours from the primary evaporator 49 may flow in heat exchange relation with the condenser 65 of the secondary system.
