Abstract

478,503. Automatic guns. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., WRIGHT, J., and TREVASKIS, H: March 13, 1937, No. 12768/36. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to firing devices in which the boltrelease member 23 is actuated pneumatically through the agency of a piston 8. According to the invention, manual means for displacing the piston is provided as an alternative to the pneumatic means. In the form shown, a spring - controlled finger - operated lever 17 pivoted at 21 carries pins 16 which pass through slots in the casing 3 and engage under a flange 10 on the piston 8. The lever 17 is thus unaffected by the pneumatic operation. The air supply pipe 1 carries the pneumatic cylinder 2 and is provided with teeth 25 engaging similar teeth on the casing 3, the parts being united at the desired angle by a screwed sleeve 26.
