Abstract

470,196. Machine guns. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., WRIGHT, J., and TREVASKIS, H. March 12, 1936, No. 7449. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to pneumatic piston-and-cylinder means for operating, through the agency of a firing rod 6, a pivoted trigger of the form used for example in the Vicker's machine gun. According to the invention, the piston 4 engaging the cylinder 2 has abutting contact only with a firing rod controlled by a spring 9. The spring abuts at one end against a collar 13 on a fixed sleeve 7 and at the other end against a collar 8 on the rod 6 which slides in the sleeve. The rear end of the sleeve acts as a stop limiting the forward motion of the rod and piston and the spring serves to return the rod and piston to inoperative position.
