[Class 80 (iii).] Apparatus for firing machine guns employs a string of balls 10 contained in a tube 9 fitted at one end with a piston 8 bearing against a second piston 1, a roller 3 on which is pressed against a cam 6 by a spring 4. The other end of the tube 9 is adjustably connected to the trigger casing 12 by a screwed bush 20 and carries a piston 16 which serves to move the trigger-lever 14 against the action of a spring 19. The transmission means is releasably locked by a detent 21 engaging a notch 22 either in the piston 1 or, if this is dispensed with, in the piston 8.
