477,323. Casting cylinder liners &c. OUBRIDGE, W. A. March 24, 1936, No. 8711. [Class 83 (i)] [Also in Groups XXVI and XXVII] Cylinder liners and sleeves and piston-ring pots are formed of composite metals or alloys such as steel and cast iron or brass or bronze and cast iron, one of the materials having good bearing properties and the other good tensile strength and toughness, and are produced by introducing one of the materials into a centrifugal mould 2 in the solid state, for example, a thin perforated steel tube 5 or coil of wire, which is spaced from the surface of the mould by distance rings 6, and then rotating the mould and pouring in a molten charge 7 of the other material.
