Abstract

477,074. Printing-plates. ADDRESSOGRAPH - MULTIGRAPH CORPORATION. March 2, 1937, No. 6209. Convention date, March 2, 1936. [Class 100 (ii)] In printing - devices of the kind comprising a printing-plate bearing embossed printing characters and a frame for holding the plate, the plate A, Fig. 5, is provided at one end with a notch B and the frame 10 with a fixed abutment 30 for the plate comprising a part 31 adapted to enter the notch B, a part 32 engaging the edge of the plate adjacent the notch, and a third part 34 overlying the face of the plate adjacent the notch whereby the plate is held against movement towards the abutment and transversely thereof and also away from the plane of the frame. As shown, the abutments consist of stamped-up portions of the frame. At the other end, the plate is provided with a similar notch co-operating with an abutment 20, Fig. 1, of the construction described in Specification 409,779. The frame may carry a number of printing-plates and an index card C and the abutments 30 of adjacent plates are at opposite ends of the frame. The plates are also held in position by lips 16, 42 and 44 stamped up from the body of the frame.
