Abstract
424,072. Printing-surfaces. ECONO PRODUCTS, Inc., 52, James Street, Rochester, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Wilson, S. C.) Sept. 23, 1933, No. 26295. Convention date, Sept. 23, 1932. [Class 100 (ii)] A printing-plate, particularly for use in small rotary presses adapted to receive separate types, consists of a printing face 1, Fig. 4, of loaded rubber, i.e. rubber mixed with lampblack or other substance adapted to modify its resilience and hardness, secured, e.g. by vulcanization, to a backing plate 2 of resilient flexible metal. A sheet 9 of fabric may be interposed between the rubber and metal. The plate is secured to the printing-cylinder 7, Fig. 2, by bending it and inserting its ends beneath flanged bars 3 inserted in a pair of the slots 8 provided for the reception of types.
