476,991. Articulated vehicles. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. May 15, 1936, No. 17189/37. Convention date, June 7, 1935. Divided out of 476,934, [Group XXX]. [Class 79 (iii)] In a motor-driven articulated lift-truck, separate driving and load-carrying portions 10, 11, each on a pair of wheels, are provided with abutting ends connected so as to allow relative rocking of the portions about a longitudinal horizontal axis lying preferably in the plane of the wheel axis of the load carrying portion. The invention is shown applied to the tilting-fork lift-truck described in Specification 476,934. The abutting end portions comprise vertical plates 12, 17, one carrying a series of bolts 18 adapted to slide in slots 13 in the other, the slots being curved about the required pivotal axis at which an actual pivotal connection 16 may or may not be provided. Raised bearing surfaces may be formed around the bolts and slots.
