Abstract

1429634 Trolleys ROLLS-ROYCE (1971) Ltd 14 June 1973 [15 March 1972] 11953/72 Heading B7B A trolley has a region on a bed for supporting a heavy load characterized in that a first group of wheels 18 is disposed under the load supporting region and a second group 22a-22d is disposed away from the region and are just clear of the ground when it is level. As shown in Fig. 1, a load supporting plate 15 is supported in two sets of ten wheels 18 carried on axles 19a 19b supported on four longitudinal channel section members 11a-11d. The members 11a- 11d are interconnected by transverse I-section members 12a-12c and channel section members 14a-14h. Longitudinal support plates 20 are disposed adjacent each wheel. Each corner of the framework has a further fixed axle 21a-21d supporting two further wheels 22a-22d respectively. Fillet members 16 and plates (28, 29), Fig. 2 (not shown), are further provided for strengthening between the longitudinal and transverse members 11, 14 respectively. Instead of being independently rotatable the wheels may be joined to rotate in sets of say two or three. A towing attachment 33 can be fitted at either end to brackets 34 attached to members 11. An outrigger arrangement 36 may be added on either side of the trolley for carrying heavier loads.
