Abstract

476,961. Pistons. VOMAG-BETRIEBSAKT.-GES. June 19, 1936, No. 17137. Convention date, June 26, 1935. [Class 122 (i)] The piston of a hydraulic die - stamping press, having a crosshead 9 integral with a press cylinder 1, is constructed of a plurality of parts 2, 3, 4 combined by a screw bolt 5 to form a unit, the height of each part being less than the working gap available for taking the piston out of the press sideways. To remove the piston, the table 6, press-plates 7, 11 and the bolt 5 are first removed. The parts 2, 3, 4 are then removed by a screw spindle provided with a pin which is inserted crosswise in the piston parts, and is connected to a lifting-nut mounted on the cross-head.
