Abstract

476,918. Automatic guns. CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST, BRNO. April 2, 1937, No. 9461. Convention date, April 17, 1936. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to gun barrels which are readily removable by a sliding movement after tilting the barrel about a front support to disengage the fastening means provided at the breech end. According to the invention, spaced projections 10 on the barrel engage a rib 13 on the body 11 to prevent lateral movement of the barrel when in the attached position, the upper rib 10 bearing on the rib 13 to permit removing the barrel by a rocking movement in the direction p followed by a sliding movement in the direction q axially of the firearm. The barrel is further secured by a bottom projection 15 engaging a recess 16 in the body. The projections 10 and rib 13 are provided on each side of the barrel and permit sliding of the barrel during recoil in which case the breech end of the barrel is attached to a recoiling casing 5.
