Abstract
476,268. Reservoir brushes. PROUDLOVE, N. Aug. 11, 1936, No. 22063. [Class 19] Lavatory brushes are provided with a soluble disinfectant in direct contact with the bristles outside the stock either in solid form or fed from a reservoir by a wick. Bristles a may be held between wires as in Fig. 1, or be set in a stock, Fig. 8. The disinfectant D, Fig. 1, may be placed and held between the bristles during or after manufacture of the brush. The block D may have wires moulded therein for attachment to the stock or may be clipped thereto. Alternatively, disinfectant mixture may be melted and allowed to set between the wires or bristles. The blocks D may consist of potassium permanganate, carbolic acid, phenol pine extract, or other disinfectant which can be made to set solid. In a modification, Fig. 7, disinfectant D<1> is fed by a wick d<1> to the bristles from a reservoir in the handle.
