[Class 44] [Also in Group XVII] A flexible receptacle such as a brief - case, leather cigarette case, or key case is fitted with sliding- clasp fastener string- ers 12 extending around two or more edges and with a correspondingly extending relatively stiff upstanding flange member 16 at the inside of the fastener to keep the contents of the case out of the path of the slider 14 and away from the interlocking elements of the fastener. The flange member 16 may be formed by doubling a strip of leather over a reinforcing cord and has a base extending at right-angles by which it is secured to the lower panel 10 of the case ; the upper panel of the case may carry a similar flange member spaced a little inwards so that the two flanges overlap.
