[Class 18] A case for the use of nurses, &c. comprises a metal box 1, Fig. 3, with a hinged lid 8, a fall front 11 and a removable textile lining with loops 16, 17 to support instruments, a metal tray 2, Fig. 2, for sterilizing purposes, and a lid 3 for the tray. When the box is closed up, the tray is inverted and fits over the box like a cap, and the lid 3 fits over the bottom of the tray. The latter is provided with handles 19 which can be swung round to clamp the lid against the bottom of the tray when the case is closed up, and the lid is provided with cut-away portions 22 so as not to foul the arms of the handles or the handle butts 20. The flanges on the lids 3, 8, the top and front edges of the box 1, and the edges of the fall front 11 including the short flanges 12 are folded over to give rounded edges. The lining is held in the box by buttons 15 attached to metal strips riveted in position. A cover of waterproof canvas, &c. is provided for the case when closed up, this cover having a fall front and a top flap held closed by snap fasteners and turn buttons, and a slot through which a handle 23 of synthetic resin &c. on the lid 3 can project is also provided. A flapclosed pouch may be provided on the back of the cover.
