Abstract
474,908. High-speed boats. WHITE & CO., Ltd., J. S., WALL, A. T., and CAREY, H. C. May 9, 1936, No. 13126. [Class 113 (ii)] To prevent squatting of the stern of highspeed boats of the hard chine type at speed, the substantially flat bottom is provided at and forward of the transom A<2> with downwardly-directed parts or surfaces. These surfaces may take the form of triangular wedgesection pads C' disposed on the bottom where the chine lines run into the transom. Alternatively, the pad may extend the full width of the bottom. In a modification, the surface is provided by a plate L, Fig. 7, hinged within a recess on the bottom of the boat and adjoining the transom. In this construction, the inclination of the plate is adjusted by a screw device N.
