Abstract

474,647. Stays. BEATON & SON, Ltd., G., and YOUNG, F. C. July 30, 1936, No. 21099. [Class 65 (i )] In a stay for a vehicle windscreen, of the kind comprising a link 15 pivoted to the screen at 16 and engaging a locking member 19 on the frame whereby the screen may be secured in any adjusted position, the screen is locked closed by automatic engagement between a catch member and a slot situated respectively on the frame and at the free end of the link (or vice versa). In the form shown, the link 15 is slotted to slide on a threaded stud on the frame, this stud carrying a nut 19 which, clamps the stay in any position; the stay 15 is of resilient metal, and when pressed towards the screen in closing the latter it springs over a catch member 20 fixed on the frame so that this engages with the slot in the stay to lock the screen closed.
