Abstract
473,381. Weighing-apparatus. WALTER, V., (trading as WALTER & SCHMITT, DR.). Sept. 26, 1936, No. 26127. Convention date, Sept. 28, 1935. [Class 143] A scale for weighing-out substances in given proportions, particularly suitable for weighing out the constituents of dental amalgams comprises a scale beam formed of two parallel bars 3 connected in the middle by a fulcrum knife edge 4, and scale pans 7, 8 detachably mounted in ring-shaped pan carriers 5, 6 which are penetrated by the bars 3, one of the scale pan carriers being adjustable along a graduated part 9 of the beam. A sleeve 10 secured to the carrier 6 facilitates accurate adjustment of the carrier. Two sliding weights 11, 12 are provided on the beam. In using the scale, the carrier 6 is adjusted according to the proportions of the ingredients and the beam is brought to equilibrium by moving the sliding weights 11, 12. One ingredient is placed in the pan 7 and the other ingredient is added to the pan 8 until equilibrium is restored.
