Abstract
473,116. Impedance networks; valve circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Dec. 11, 1936, No. 34139. Convention date, Jan. 20. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] Second and third harmonics are eliminated, and a push-pull oscillator 1 is matched to the feeder 5 of an aerial 4, by means of the filter 6. The inductances L3, L4, L5, L6 are adjusted to effect matching of the line, the condenser C8 being used temporarily in place of the tuned shunt. The condenser C8 is then removed, and the acceptor circuit C5, L7, L8, C6 is tuned to the third harmonic, which appears as a potential between the legs of the circuit. The earthed inductance L9 is then adjusted so that the acceptor circuits L9, L7, C5 and L9, L8, C6 are tuned to the second harmonic, which appears as a potential between each leg of the circuit and earth. The inductances L7, L8 may be reduced for the third harmonic by means of a short - circuiting strap S. The variable inductance L9 may be replaced by a variable condenser, Fig. 3 (not shown). The condensers C5, C6 may be interchanged with the inductances L7, L8 and combined to form a three-plate condenser, Fig. 4 (not shown).
