Abstract

486,049. Impedance networks. HADFIELD, B. M. Feb. 1, 1937, No. 2849. [Class 40 (iii)] A series-tuned circuit whose output is taken from either the condenser or inductance has the input voltage reversed in phase and mixed with the output voltage. Thus, in Fig. 2, the windings S1, S2 feed the circuit CL and the output terminals respectively in opposite phase, and the circuit acts as a low-pass filter, since at high frequencies the impedance of CL is predominantly that of L so that outputs from S1, S2 are equal and opposite. When the output is taken from across the condenser, the circuit acts as a highpass filter. The circuits are employed to isolate a sinusoidal oscillation from an impulsive oscillation.
