472,217. Foot-arch supports. BARROW, H. Jan. 20, 1937, No. 1699. [Class 17 (ii)] A foot arch supporting pad such as a longitudinal arch support 3 or metatarsal pad 2 is non-rotatably located on a shoe insole, or on a loose sock 1 for insertion in a shoe, by engagement of an integral ridge member 4 thereon in a complementary locating slot 6 in the insole or sock. The ridge member has a flange 5 extending around the whole or part of its lower periphery to bear against the underside of the insole or sock adjacent the slot. In the case of loose insoles or socks, the pad is readily detachable so that pads of various shapes and sizes may be attached.
