Abstract

Compositions generating oxygen thermally comprise compressed and moulded alkali metal chlorates and perchlorates or mixtures thereof having admixed therewith asbestos fibres which, in order to convert carbon monoxide formed into carbon dioxide, may be impregnated with oxides, hydroxides, or peroxides of alkali or alkaline earth metals (except magnesium), or with catalytic metal oxides.
