[Class 26] In order to provide for the delivery of flushes of different magnitudes, the draw-member of a waterwaste - preventer is provided with two separate actuating-devices supported in a housing and adapted to control the length of stroke of the member. When given a short stroke the draw-member lifts a bell 5, Fig. 1, carrying a pipe 8 having a seating on the flush-pipe 4 to an extent insufficient to initiate siphonic discharge, but with a longer stroke of the member, the bell is lifted to a greater extent and siphonic discharge is started. In Fig. 2, a member 14 carrying a handle 23 is connected to the draw-member by an eye 11 screwing into a sleeve 12 to provide adjustability and may be lowered against a spring 24 to give a full flush, a reduced flush being obtained by pushing a button 17 secured to one end of a bell-crank the other end 19 of which is disposed on a slot in the member 14. In Fig. 3, the member 14 comprises two telescoping parts 14a, 14b, the former having a projection 14d disposed in a slot 14c in the latter. To provide for variation in the strokes, the button 17 screws into a sleeve 26 connected to the bell-crank 19 and the handle is connected to a sleeve 27 into which screws the part 14b. A stop 271 and return-springs 24, 29 are provided In Fig. 4, the pushbutton is replaced by a handle 30 screwing into the upper-part 14a of the draw-member, and a further adjustment is provided for by a sleeve 32 to which the ring 11 is connected. In all forms, the various adjustable parts may be locked in their desired positions by means of countersunk grub-screws.
