470,937. Folding cardboard boxes. ROBINSON, E. April, 17, 1936, No. 11111. [Class 18] A folding box which can if desired be folded around the contents, comprises bottom 11, sides 12, 14, a lid section or lid sections 13, 15 which overlap, ends 16, 17, hooked side extensions 19, 20, 21, 22 engaging slits 18, and lid flaps 27, 28, 29, 30 which enter the slits between flaps 16 and 17 and flaps 19 .. 22. The length of sides 23 of extensions 19-22 varies up to nearly half the width of the box, the edges 24, which terminate in notches 26 have their length a equal to a<1>. The hook portions of the extensions 27-30 are longer than those of extension 19-22 and the edges 31 are inclined to the hinge line at a greater angle than the edges 24, and the length b is greater than the length a by the depth of the notch. In the assembled position the notches 26, 31 and the ends of the slits 18 interlock. Flaps 16, 17 may be made deeper than flaps 19-22 and flaps 19, 21 may be so dimensioned that in the assembled position they meet.
