Abstract
470,813. Warp knitting-machines. MORTON, J., and HANNAY, R. S. E. Feb. 21, 1936, No. 13351/37. Divided out of 470,784. [Class 74 (ii)] The mechanism for shogging the warp guide-bar 12 comprises a rotary cam 40, a cam follower,42, and means for moving the follower 42 tangentially of the cam 40. The follower-displacing formations of the cam can, therefore, be inclined with less steepness. The cam follower 42 is mounted upon a member 41 having pin-and-slot connections 45<1> with an arm 45 arranged radially of the cam 40. The member 41 also has a curved surface 41a concentric with the cam and engaging a tappet 43, 44 interposed between the follower 42 and the guide-bar 12. The member 41 is connected by a link 47 and bell-crank lever 51 to an eccentric rod 50 operated by an eccentric 49. The timing of the eccentric and the cam is such that the tangential motion of the follower 42 imparted by the eccentric is simultaneous with the radial movement imparted by the cam formation.
