Abstract

470,507. Coke - quenching wagons. WELLMAN SMITH OWEN ENGINEERING CORPORATION, Ltd., and PURVES, G. T. Feb. 19, 1936, No. 5082. [Class 51 (ii)] A coke-quenching wagon 1 carries, preferably at one end, a water tank 5 which feeds a system of sprinkler pipes 7, 8 adapted to be swung about the axis of the supply pipe 9 from the horizontal to the vertical position when coke is being charged into the wagon. The arrangement may be such that the water supply is automatically turned on and off by the movement of the pipe system. The tank 5 may be mounted on the underframe of the wagon and the delivery of water to the sprinklers effected by a pump or compressed air. Specifications 435,127 and 465,075 are referred to.
