Abstract

470,399. Electric immersion heaters. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HUMPHREYS, O. W. Feb. 7, 1936, No. 3800. [Class 39 (iii)] In an electric immersion heater carried by a fixing head 5, the heating element and its surrounding sheath 1 are both mounted on a relatively small member 2 removably attached to the head 5 so that the heating element together with its sheath may be withdrawn from the tank containing liquid to be heated without disturbing the head 5. The members 2 are forced against washers 10 in recesses in the head 5 by rotating nuts 11 on pins 12 which pass through apertures in ears 3 formed on members 2. Liquid-tight joints are thus formed.
