Abstract

Preparations which inhibit sex functions are obtained from the urine of sexually immature members of the same sex. The active substances are precipitated with the protein content of the urine if protein precipitants are added thereto and can be removed from the precipitate by water or aqueous liquids. Examples describe the treatment of urine of juvenile females: (1) by concentration, precipitation with alcohol and extraction of the precipitate with water; (2) by treatment with active charcoal and extraction of the charcoal with water; (3) by precipitation with acetone saturated with benzoic acid, treatment of the precipitate with ether, and shaking of the ethereal solution with water into which the hormone passes.
