Abstract

Germicidal preparations consist of dispersions in an aqueous vehicle of tertiary butylphenol and/or alkyl-substituted derivatives thereof and one or more additional germicidal phenolic substances. Para-tertiary butylphenol and para-tertiary butyl-meta-cresol are suitable examples of the first ingredient, chloro-phenol, chloro-cresol or chloro-xylenol of the second. The dispersion of the materials in water may be effected by diluting their alcoholic solutions or by the use of small quantities of soap. Specification 422,219 is referred to.
