Abstract
469,918. Fans. TORRINGTON MANUFACTURING CO. Sept. 22, 1936, No. 25779. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1935. [Class 110 (i)] A fan blade, with the greater part of its margin convex, is trough shape with longitudinal channel and arcuate sides, the blade being secured with the channel at a substantial angle to a radius on the axis of revolution. The blade 10, Fig. 1, has a plane area 13 with curved entering and trailing parts 14, 15 merging on parallel zones 16, 17. The part 14 is curved to a substantially greater radius than that of the part 15, and has a greater area. Each blade has a greater width than length. The blades are secured by offset lugs 25, so forming lobes 18, 19 which overlap lobes on adjacent blades. In a modification, Fig. 6, opposed blades 30 are connected by a bridge 31, integral with or welded to the blades. The offset portions 24, Fig. 1, and 40, Fig. 6, are set in at an angle to form centrifugal impeller elements.
