[Class 141] An adjustable necktie having a neckband portion comprising inner and outer plies 16, 17 of material with their longitudinal edges turned inward, is provided with a third ply or label 19, coextensive in width with the inner ply and also having its longitudinal edges turned inward and secured to the turned-in edges of the outer and inner plies by longitudinal rows of concealed stitching 18. The label 19 and a narrow reinforcing band 21 beneath, are each provided with a series of spaced perforations registering with one another in pairs, means, such as stitching or eyelets 22, being provided for marginally interengaging each pair of perforations. In the example shown in Fig. 1, the tie consists of two bow tying portions 10 and 11, formed on the forward ends of the neckband portions 14 and 12 respectively. The latter neckband portion is provided with a loop 13, and the former with a label 19 and a male element 15 to engage the perforations. The neckband portion 14.is passed through the loop 13 and is secured by the element 15 to one of the perforations. The invention may be applied to neckties of the four-in-hand and ready-made kinds. The inner ply 16 may extend unbroken beneath the label 19 as shown in Fig. 4, or may stop short, as in Fig. 5, the ends of the plies 16<1> and 19 being stitched together at 24<1>.
